How will I know if a potential guest is safe to host?
Overnight has a verification system in place to help you make the most informed decisions for you and your safety. Not only will you be able to see that guest's prior reviews, but in the case of a guest without reviews, every Overnight user must go through a Facebook authentication. This means that you'll be able to see certain guest Facebook information, including the number of total friends and whether you have friends in common. The more friends a person has through Facebook, the higher the chances that the account is legitimate. You should also check to see if the guest has done ID verification, and if they haven't, you should feel comfortable to ask them to do it. We also run a phone and credit card verification process, which adds another level of protection.
The most important way, however, will always be a simple gut check. Ask questions, communicate in the way that you want to be communicated with, and if your standards are not met, do not accept the request. Always trust your gut — it's there for a reason!
