What should I do if I am uncomfortable with my guest?
If you're uncomfortable with your guest, it could be that there was some miscommunication or misunderstanding regarding house rules or boundaries. Is there something we can help clear up or enforce? Let us know and we'd be happy to contact the guest and discuss. Sometimes, a conversation is all that's necessary to remedy a situation. That being said, your home is your own, and if you decide that you no longer want this person to stay with you, we can help.
If at any point you feel uneasy, we suggest the following:
- Step 1: Use your own judgement. If you don’t feel safe or you feel uneasy, then use your judgement to understand if you should remove yourself from that situation or not. Make sure you focus on your safety first.
- Step 2 : If you feel you need to contact authorities, make sure you do so first before attempting to contact Overnight so you can focus on your safety before your accommodations.
- Step 3: Only when you are in a safe space and feel at ease, contact Overnight support so we can discuss next steps. Don't worry — we'll handle communication with the guest.
Your safety is always our first priority. If you’re uncomfortable we want to make sure you’re in safe hands and you use your best judgement to get there. Contact us right away if any issues arise.
