What can I do to make sure my guests feel welcome and at home?
The easiest way to make a guest feel at home is to kick things off with a warm and friendly welcome, which will set the tone for their stay. The more approachable you are, the better they'll feel about coming to you with any questions that may come up during their stay.
To take it a step further, we've found that the most successful Overnight hosts (with the most rebookings) are those who put a bit more preparation into a guest's stay. They'll often leave a box of snacks (pretzels, bananas, coffee, water bottles, etc.), an extra toothbrush, spare blankets/pillows, and other comfort items.
This communicates that you were particularly thoughtful in planning for their stay and that their comfort is important to you. By no means is it a requirement, but it certainly helps with reviews and rebookings.
